The IRS notice was posted in the window of Green Parrot Cafe. That's when I decided to write & put in an offer. I personally sold the Green Parrot Cafe 2 years earlier to a blood donor company. I knew they were in trouble cause when I went & got a Bloody Mary it was horrible. You would think a blood company could make a good one.
A business broker had it listed & told me I would be the 3rd offer in line. I went ahead & did it. The other 2 offers I found out were from promoters that tied up the property & were shopping for backers to get it. I thought maybe I will have a small chance if the other 2 offers fell apart. They did & I was up to buy. I went ahead & closed on the purchase. Then I had to come up with $'s to clean, remodel & stock the bar & kitchen. I sold my rare antique slot machine collection & came up with the funds. It literally made me sick when the man picked them up. One machine came out of the Hotel Utah lobby by the cigar store. I wanted extremely good food so I bought & moved the Afterwards restaurant for their famous Pot roast & designed a 70-item menu. Applying for Liquor License I had to form a non-profit Corporation so I named it "No-Money Inc". It was funny a lot of the vendors didn't like taking a check that said No-Money Inc. on it. When applying for License I had to form a management co. also. At the hearing I was on crutches & told the liquor board they were tough & that's why my condition & named management corp "Hardway Management.” They laughed.

The local Miller distributor Owner called me to let me know ZZ Top was coming in for lunch @ the Green Parrot. He is a very good friend & was the model for The Marlboro man on horseback (His nick name is "Tonto"). They came in & I went & sat with them in the front patio dining area. I previously went by the kitchen & told cooks to make all the french fries or any food items they could into Z's on their order. I asked about the razor shaving company that offered them a million dollars to have their beards off. They told me they were too ugly without their beards so they turned them down. A man was there also from Idaho that personally hand built all their guitars. Had a great lunch & they said to come to the upcoming Las Vegas show & get free tickets. So I called "Lane" one of the previous Green Parrot owners & we went. That's a whole other story.
